Interview with Sachin in Dy Patil Stadium, Mumbai, India

The inaugural TMGA camp in India, held at the stunning DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. It proved a big hit with the media, who were keen to hear Sachin Tendulkar’s views.

In one interview, Sachin spoke with passion about the mission and vision of the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy:

“The idea is to make them better cricketers and global citizens. Teach them how to take responsibility on the field and generally in life and distinguish between right and wrong.

“The basics have never changed; methods have changed as far as approach is concerned as different formats are introduced.”

Sachin also reinforced the idea of inclusiveness:

“It is important to encourage girls and I have already seen a couple of talented girls today – they are really good.

“Also, in the long term, we want to associate with school and colleges, build clubs for all sports. Club culture brings people closer. I have already said I want to promote all sports not just cricket. This academy is global where children will not have boundaries and will get a strong foundation to construct something what they want.”
